Equipment Maintenance Tech - Field Lube

Job Title:  Equipment Maintenance Technician


Reports to: Service Manager


Job Summary: Lube truck preventive maintenance, inspections, minor repairs, and other related and supporting service work on products sold or serviced by Riggs in a field environment without supervision.


Minimum Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Class A or B Commercial Driver’s license (CDL) or the ability to obtain a CDL.
  • At least 3 years experience repairing and maintaining CAT equipment preferred.
  • Lube truck preventive maintenance service experience is a plus.


Key Functions Performed (in accordance with classification):

  • Carries out scheduled preventive maintenance field service with lube truck.
  • Clean machines, components, and parts.
  • Load and unload equipment, components, and parts.
  • Transport equipment, components, and parts around the facility.
  • Perform basic and advanced maintenance on equipment.
  • Inspect equipment for proper operation and for additional repairs needed and provides advice to customers.
  • Plan and conduct maintenance and repairs.
  • Complete service documentation, parts acquisition and return, tool acquisition and return, service and technical information retrieval, and other activities to enable prompt invoicing and collection of service work performed.
  • Perform all tasks in a manner that ensures customer satisfaction and prompt invoicing and payment for work performed.
  • Take proper care of all company owned assets and keeps work area and service truck clean and orderly.
  • Assist in training lower level Technicians when needed.
  • Perform all of the above functions in a safe, efficient, and professional manner.
  • Facilitates the sale of additional service whenever appropriate.
  • Other duties as required in support of Riggs customers and business operations.
