Job Summary:

The purpose of a Solution Services Representative is to increase customer satisfaction, operational performance and customer perception of SITECH and Riggs professionalism in the market place and to support all technology related hardware, software, application and training for Trimble and Caterpillar equipment.

Minimum Requirements

  • Professional Surveyor License in the State of ARKANSAS.
  • Must be proficient in reading Construction Plans.
  • Must be proficient in performing construction layout calculations.
  • Must be proficient in performing construction stakeout
  • Specialized knowledge of construction process
  • Effective Verbal and Written communication skills.
  • Intermediate level Excel, Access and Word.
  • Overnight Travel – Low 1-4 days per month.


Salary Range

  • Depending on experience

Primary Responsibilities



  • Provide sales support for all technology related products to sales force
  • Consult with customers regarding application, software and hardware Solutions
  • Develop training for Business Center-HCE that can be held on a customer specific basis or on a larger scale.  Areas for training include but are not limited to Site Model, Road Modeling, Site and Road Takeoff, As-Built quantity calculations.
  • Build site models to assist small contractors with transition to technology. 
  • Assist in project setup (site calibration and instruction)
  • Attend Trimble Training course and become a Trimble Certified Trainer.
  • Learn and assist in machine system troubleshooting including ARO installations, measure-ups and machine calibrations.
  • Provide consulting and training on job site for customers in all technology related applications
  • Maintain a call list of key customers and document each visit weekly to the Sales Department. Criteria should include reason for visit, accomplishments, and customer concerns.
  • Attend new product deliveries at customer site; at the request of sales manager.
  • Be available for call out nights and weekends with limited notice. Call may originate from service or sales.
  • Minimizing a “Customer’s” Down Time is Critical, SITECH / Riggs MUST demonstrate a HIGH sense of Urgency in responding to customer problems at all times.


Secondary Responsibilities

  • Work closely with internal departments and communicate issues or concern to appropriate department.
  • Maintain sound financial decision making / customer satisfaction relationships.


Asset Management

  • Manage time and expenses (Vehicle, travel & meals) for best use of company funds.
  • Monitor and recommend improvements in make-ready jobs for low cost new machine preparation.


  • Assist Salesmen in selection of proper machine / attachments for customer requirements.
  • Assist Sales in development and maintaining of Marketing Plans.



  • Communication with customer and Riggs internal personnel is Critical, position requires that Machine & Technology Specialist take the “LEAD” role in coordinating and disseminating information that impacts / improves customer satisfaction.
  • Build positive relationships with all internal customers (salesmen, sales managers, parts, service and rental managers) and promote teamwork and good internal communication.

Financial Management

  • Complete and maintain reports as required by the other Team members.


  • Follow all company proposed safety, performance and general conduct work rules.
  • Notify supervisor of any accidents or safety hazards observed.

Working Conditions

  • Employee is frequently submitted to high levels of stress.
  • Position is considered active.
  • Office environment 30%, customer site, shop or yard 70%

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to exert 50 lbs. of force occasionally and 20 lbs. of force frequently.
  • Position requires reaching, grasping, walking, climbing, bending, kneeling and standing.
  • Position may be required to traverse rough or uneven ground and mounting machinery.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate, both written and verbally, for contact with customers and co-workers.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend information received via computer terminal, specification reports, financial contracts, technical/business correspondence and reports.

Responsible for customer and internal Riggs employee training on factory Cat and Sitech/Trimble aftermarket machine systems and software. Also responsible for becoming a Trimble Certified Trainer initially in Business Center and SPS and GCS to follow.




  1. Check schedule with Asst. Branch Manager to see if assistance is needed.
  2. Manage software support calls.
  3. Provide customer set up and training on new software either in office or at customer site.
  4. Assist with sales training on a monthly basis.
  5. Communicate issues or concerns to appropriate departments.




Communication is the Key to success, keeping everyone informed of problems and solutions and “EVERYONE” taking “RESPONSIBILITY” for Customers Satisfaction will ensure Riggs and Sitech Arkansas success in this market.
